Let’s get started.

The Different Ways You Can Use Essential Oils

Since time immemorial, essential oils have been used in many different ways across various cultures throughout the world.

And, there are quite a few ways in which you can use essential oils.

Let’s take a look, shall we?

Aromatherapy uses essential oils to enhance one’s psychological as well as physical well being. The idea behind aromatherapy is that the essential oils get into your bloodstream through the air and provide you with several benefits.

I’ll be talking about the benefits later in this article.

Diffusing essential oils

Diffusing essential oils is probably one of the most popular methods used in aromatherapy.

But, how does diffusing essential oils really work?

Well, the essential oil particles are diffused into the air and they enter our nervous system through the air we breathe.

Diffusing essential oils is mainly for your nose

There are a lot of different types of diffusers which you can use:

All you need to do is to add 6-10 drops of essential oil to your diffuser and you’re good to go!

Spraying

Spraying an essential oil is also a great way to get some aromatherapy in.

In this case, the essential oil molecules are released into the air by a spritz and just like with the diffuser, the essential oil particles are released into the air and enter our system through our noses.

Spraying an essential oil is ideal for places such as your office, home, or even car!

All you have to do is add water to a 90 ml spray bottle and mix 6 drops of an essential oil of your choice to it!

Easy, right?

Moving on…

Topically with carrier oils

Essential oils can also be applied directly to your skin.

You can topically apply essential oils by mixing them with a good quality carrier oil of your choice.

Topical application is ideal for:

  • Enjoying benefits of an essential oil in a local body part
  • Faster onset of benefits

Beauty services such as massages and facials take the use of topical essential oil treatments.

You can add some essential oil to your pedicure as well.

All you have to do is to add a few drops of your preferred choice of oil and soak your feet in it for about 20 minutes.
